First Year Curriculum »

The first year courses serve the purpose of laying a foundation of key Biblical truths equipping students for a lifetime of fruitful ministry as believers in the Lord Jesus Christ. The first year classes must be taken in order for students to attend the second year. The first year can be completed over the course of one or two years, depending on the program chosen (fast-track or slow-track). The below listed classes are scheduled for first year students and are subject to change without notice. All TRBC classes train through practical and relevant sound doctrinal teaching encouraging students to pursue a passion for God.

  • First Year courses:
  • Basic Theology 101: Doctrine of God and Man +
  • This Class will show the student the biblical basis for our belief in God and his creation. We will also look at man as the center player in God’s creation, at the relationship between God and man, and man’s dependency on God.

  • Principles of Prayer +
  • This class addresses the various styles of prayer found throughout the Bible. The student will study prayer and fasting, as well as how to effectively communicate to God through researching Biblical examples. The student will also be taught how to incorporate how to incorporate the principles of prayer in their personal lives.

  • The Wilderness Mentality +
  • This course will provide the believer an in-depth understanding of living or camping in the "wilderness" is vastly different than going through the wilderness. Set your mind on what is above (Col. 3:2), implementing Practical "Disciplines" of the Christian faith to Godly principles in our everyday living. We will unfold these disciplines into three areas of the Spirit of God.

    1. The Inward disciplines – Prayer and personal study of the word by renewing our mind offer avenues of personal examination, change and growth.

    2. The Outward disciplines – Being responsible and accountable for who "you are" today; prepared to be effective in our daily living.

    3. The Corporate disciplines – Living and operating in oneness, this will bring us closer to one another and to God.

  • The Covenants (formerly Blood Covenant) +
  • The Covenants course will give an understanding of what a covenant is and why it is important to all believers. Students will explore old covenant types and shadows and get an understanding of God’s new covenant terms and benefits.

  • Pneumatology +
  • Students will learn how to live life in the Spirit by studying what the Bible teaches on the Person of the Holy Spirit and His anointing in and upon the life of the believer and minister.

  • Ecclesiology +
  • This course will introduce the students to the meaning of the church, terminology found in scripture, and its purpose. Special attention will be given to its foundation or origin, and to its general or overall structure. The course will delve into the aspects and importance church plays in the lives of believers as well as the bonding or joining of its members function and health. This course explores the roles involved in the church, its leadership, and its functions such and water baptism and communion. Lastly, this course will help the students understand the role and relationship of the church as the body of Christ.

  • Doctrine of Scripture +
  • Using the Foundations of Pentecostal Theology as our text, we will study how the scriptures came from the heart and mind of God, through the hands of human beings, and into our lives.The Hebrew-Greek Study Bible will enable us to examine specific words in their original meaning so that we can more fully understand what God is saying.Additional resources will include cross references, Bible dictionaries, maps, and computer software.Our goal is to become excited students of the Word of God so that we can apply it in our own lives and then effectively share this Truth with a lost and dying world.

  • Old Testament Survey +
  • This course provides a brief overview of the Law (Torah,) the Prophets (Nebhi’im,) and the Writings (Kethubhim), commonly called the Old Testament, with special attention to God’s overarching purpose in history, the development of the covenants, the messianic prophecies, and His ways with His people.

  • Foundations of Faith +
  • Faith is the foundation of the Christian’s life. Romans 1:17 says "The just shall live by faith," yet many believers do not understand what true Bible faith is. In this course, you will discover the basic principles of faith and why faith is the key to receiving from God.

  • Understanding Spiritual Authority +
  • The purpose of this class is to instruct, equip and encourage students to understand God’s inherent and delegated authority in order to enable students to walk in God given authority. Students will be taught both the position and practice of God’s delegated spiritual authority to the believer.

  • New Testament Survey +
  • This class will take the student through an overview of each of the books of the New Testament. Since the material does not go into great depth, it affords us the ability to see the "big picture" of the purpose of each book and its connection to world events. We will also touch on how and why the New Testament as a whole was compiled, as well as learn about the primary characters of the New Testament.

  • Church History 101 +
  • This course is designed to develop a comprehensive understanding and appreciation of the key events, people and different religious beliefs that contributed to church history. Students will study from the reformation to movements in the 21st century. This class will touch on modern church movements from the "latter rain" following WWII to the contemporary evangelical awakening of today.

  • Doctrines of Grace +
  • An in-depth study of the most powerful force operating in a believer’s life today, "GRACE". Grace is the ability of God helping the believer to live out his or her destiny, calling and purpose in life. A complete study of Romans chapters 3 thru 8 and of Galatians 3, as well as, other supporting Bible chapters and verses that will assist the student in an all around Biblical understanding of the doctrines of grace.

  • Ministry Gifts and Callings +
  • During this course, we will examine what the Bible teaches on the Ministry Gifts set in the Church by the Lord Jesus Christ, as listed in Ephesians 4:11. We will also study other references to the five-fold ministry gifts, other ministry callings mentioned in the New Testament and the gifts of the Spirit that equip the believer in these callings.

  • This course is designed to introduce the student to what the Bible says in regards to the subject of healing. Special attention will be given to the question, "Is it God’s will for all to be healed?"
